$48,114.30/year; 80 hours bi-weekly certified
$50,520.00/year; 84 hours bi-weekly; Uniformed Patrol Officer; shiftwork (for those who successfully complete the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy and/or have a current South Carolina Class I Police Officer certification)

Class III Police Officer - Animal Control Officer
$16. 43/hour; 40 hours/week
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid South Carolina driver’s license
• Successful completion of Euthanasia Certification course required upon hire
• Must satisfactorily complete pre-assessment program
• Experience with animals preferred
The Advanced Class III Police Officer-Animal Control Officer performs labor and technical services to enforce animal related laws ordinances and provides services to protect the public’s health, safety, and welfare. Under the specific direction of the Chief of Police, Advanced Class III Police Officers are assigned to the Community Services Division. Advanced Class III Police Officers follow the guidelines established by the Division Commander and are responsible to safeguard people, protect property in government buildings, provide security in a courtroom, transport prisoners and mental patients, and administrative support to police operations; perform the full range of field and office work in their assigned position in Community Services Division; responsible to provide input on prevention, intervention and enforcement strategies; responsible to ensure the proper enforcement of all Federal Laws, State Laws, City Ordinances, and departmental policies and procedures.

Administrative Services Specialist I
$16.43/hour; 40 hours/week
Swing Shifts: 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm; 11:00 pm - 7:00 am
• High School graduate or equivalent; two years of data entry or customer service position preferred; basic computer skills; ability to type 45 words per minute; must successfully pass an extensive background investigation
• Valid South Carolina’s Driver License
Entry level position under direct or general supervision, the Administrative Services Specialist I follows the guidelines established by the Administrative Services Manager and the Administrative Services Supervisor; learns and performs a variety of non-sworn responsibilities to support the Police Department and its mission; is responsible for answering and directing calls for varying services provided by the Police Department and other City Departments; responds to officers and their supervisors in the field requesting assistance; responds to the needs of City officials, other agencies and the general public; and performs all other work as required.
