FLORENCE, SC – The City of Florence plans to implement new route changes for weekly Sanitation services beginning the week of April 19, 2021. To increase efficiency and prepare for future growth of our City, the City of Florence has recently evaluated the current sanitation routes and made changes to accommodate the collection of household residential garbage, recycling materials and yard waste.
Every route will have changes, but not all households will be impacted by those changes. Notices detailing route change information were delivered to impacted residents the week of April 5th and a second copy will be delivered to those same residents this week. The notice indicates a resident’s new collection day, and the new yard waste collection day will follow on the third day after. For example, a resident with a Monday garbage & recycling collection day will have a Thursday yard waste collection.
For those households with route changes, the new collection assignments will begin on Monday, April 19, 2021. Maps and other details will be provided at www.cityofflorence.com and on various city social media outlets. We encourage customers to visit the City of Florence website and use the interactive map provided to verify your collection days. From the City’s website home page, click on the highlighted bar at the top of the page, click on “view interactive sanitation map”, add your address in the search bar and click on the search icon. The map will zoom in to the location of your residence and display your garbage & recycling collection day. A chart with corresponding yard waste collection days is also provided. For questions regarding the pending route changes, please contact the Public Works Department at (843) 665-3236.
