FLORENCE, SC – The City of Florence is excited to announce the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the addition of eight pickleball courts at Timrod Park. The ceremony will take place on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 11:00 AM, and will be held at Timrod Park, located at 400 Timrod Park Drive, Florence, SC. This event is open to the public.

This exciting addition to the park is the result of a collaborative effort between the City of Florence, the Drs. Bruce & Lee Foundation, and the Florence Pickleball Association, with the goal of expanding recreational opportunities for the community as pickleball continues to gain popularity nationwide. The Drs. Bruce & Lee Foundation contributed $70,000, while the City of Florence provided $69,000, bringing the total project cost to $139,000. This expansion highlights our community's ongoing commitment to promoting health, fitness, and outdoor activities for residents of all ages.
