Inclement Weather Closure

FLORENCE, SC – Due to anticipated inclement weather, city offices will be closed on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. However, Police, Fire, Public Works, and Utilities personnel will remain available to respond as needed.
For Public Works or water/sewer inquiries, please call 843-665-3236. For non-emergency concerns, contact the Police Department at 843-665-3191. In case of emergency, dial 9-1-1.
The city plans to operate regular commercial garbage collection, as well as residential garbage, recycling, and yard waste collection routes on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, weather permitting. Sanitation services will follow a delayed schedule to allow for an appropriate assessment of road conditions before service begins.
With uncertain road conditions, the public is urged to limit travel unless absolutely necessary, as road conditions may be hazardous.
Additional city closures are as follows:
- In-person court proceedings for Florence Municipal Court are canceled for Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Defendants with scheduled appearances will receive notification by mail regarding their rescheduled court date, now set for February 12, 2025, at 9:00 am.
- All City of Florence Community Centers will close at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, and remain closed on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. The Mordecai C. Johnson (formerly Northwest Park) community meeting scheduled this evening is canceled.
- All City of Florence Parks, Recreation & Tourism athletics practices for this evening and tomorrow are also canceled.
