FLORENCE, SCThe City of Florence Veterans Park Committee is proud to announce the 16th Annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM. The event will be held at Florence Veterans Park, 601 Woody Jones Blvd., Florence, SC, 29501. This ceremony is free and open to the public.

Attendees are invited to enjoy a live performance by the Crusaders Youth Choir from All Saints Episcopal Day School, starting at 10:40 AM. The ceremony will begin at 11:00 AM and is expected to last 45-50 minutes. This year’s keynote speaker will be LT COL Jaime Zambrano, a member of the SC Air National Guard.

The program will also include a recognition by the South Carolina Department of Veterans Affairs, honoring the Florence School District for its designation as a Purple Star School District. Additionally, there will be a dedication of a monument to the US Space Force, along with the addition of 21 names of Pee Dee area veterans to the Wall of Honor. The Wilson High School USAF JROTC will present the color guard, and the Veterans Honor Guard will perform a rifle volley and Taps to pay tribute to our honored service members.

City Manager Scotty Davis commended the committee, stating, “This ceremony is a meaningful opportunity for our community to come together and honor the brave men and women who have served our country. We are grateful for the dedication of the Florence Veterans Park Committee in making this event a success each year.”

The public is invited to attend and help us honor our veterans. Seating is limited, so attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs.
