FLORENCE, SC:
The City of Florence will celebrate National Farmers Market Week August 1 – 7, 2021. Residents and visitors are encouraged to stop by the market on Tuesday, August 3rd, 4 – 7:00pm and Saturday, August 7th, 9:00am – 1:00pm and be part of the celebration. Mayor Teresa Myers Ervin will attend the Saturday morning market to present a Proclamation in observance of the event.
National Farmers Market Week (NFMW) is now in its 22nd year and is an annual celebration highlighting the vital role farmers markets play in the nation’s food system. Farmers markets serve as community hubs fostering direct relationships between community members and farmers which can work to create a more fair and sustainable food system.
We appreciate the many local vendors and artisans who participate at the City Center Market each week recognizing the importance of these local resources to the Market’s success. The City also acknowledges the vital role that market vendors provided to the Florence community during the pandemic. The Market remained open during this time to provide access to local foods for city residents.
