FLORENCE, SC – In order to complete necessary water system utility work in support of the Florence County Capital Tax Project for the Alligator Road Widening Phase II, the City of Florence is notifying customers within the 2300 – 3000 Blocks of Twin Church Road, Veil Lane, Keystone Drive, Cornerstone Lane, Stonewall Drive, Jeb Stuart Avenue, Robert E Lee Avenue, Johnston Avenue, and Weaver Lane that water services will be temporarily disrupted on Thursday, March 30, 2023 during the hours of 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Upon the resumption of water service, lines will be flushed which could cause temporary discoloration. Impacted customers may also notice trapped air in the plumbing, which will be released initially as water is used. Since making these repairs requires a temporary shutdown of the water system and a loss of pressure to the area, out of a preponderance of caution, the South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control (SCDHEC) requires that a Boil Water Advisory notice be issued to effected customers following these interruptions. The advisory requires that any water used for consumption be boiled for one (1) minute prior to use. Test results for bacteriological quality should be completed on Friday, March 31, 2023, at which time the City of Florence will notify customers regarding the status of the boil water advisory.
Should have any questions concerning this notice, you may call the City of Florence at (843) 665-3236 or SCDHEC (843) 661-4825.
