$9.12 24/48 Hour Work Schedule
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-Must be at least 18 years old
-High School Diploma or GED
-Valid S.C. Driver's License
-Must complete an extensive pre-assessment program.
No visible tattoos while in uniform, i.e. no tattoos on head, neck, shoulders, upper chest, upper and lower arms (that would be visible with a short-sleeved shirt or T-shirt), wrists, and/or hands.
APPLICATION PROCESS
-Submit an official City of Florence application form. Forms are available at the City of Florence Human Resources Department, City-County Complex, Room 507, 180 North Irby Street, Florence, SC. Forms can be downloaded at http://www.cityofflorence.com/employment/application_200105.pdf, or call 843-665-5158 for an application packet
Note: The City of Florence does not accept resumes.
-Submit an original 10-year driving record. Include a report from each state in which you held a driver's license during the last 10 years. In South Carolina, driving records are available at the SC Department of Motor Vehicles. (Other states have similar agencies.)
SELECTION PROCESS
To be considered for the eligibility list, applicants must successfully complete each component of the pre-assessment, including :
-Driving records check
-Written examination
-Thorough background investigation
-Oral board interview
-Fire Chief's interview
-Fitness Test
-Medical exam and drug screening
Pre-screening activities do not indicate that a vacancy exists; however, eligible candidates will be provided the opportunity to participate in designated assessment to determine future employment consideration.
