Crime Prevention for Residents

Free crime prevention assistance from the Florence Police Department is available to City of Florence residents. Specially developed programs provide suggested crime prevention techniques to reduce the potential of becoming a victim of burglary, theft, rape, fraud, or other crimes.

One of the best ways to reduce crime in residential neighborhoods is to organize a neighborhood crime watch. The program is about neighbors watching out for neighbors. By working together, crime can be significantly reduced.

Free brochures are also available upon request on a variety of topics including burglary, theft from vehicles, auto vehicle theft, suspicious activity, fraud, and personal safety. Call 843-676-8800 for further information.

To report a crime or suspicious activity of a non-emergency nature, call the Florence Police Department dispatcher at 843-665-3191. Remember, crime doesn't pay—you do.
