• City of Florence Comprehensive Plan

  The Comprehensive Plan is a necessary and important document to help guide the future growth and economic development of the Florence community. The plan will include an identification of key planning issues, followed by goals and specific action recommendations.

• Neighborhood Planning

  Reinstituting neighborhood planning is a key implementation strategy outlined in the City of Florence Comprehensive Plan. This Plan recommends that at least one small area plan be developed each year. Area plans should focus on “specific area improvements and relevant code enforcement issues.”

• Florence Downtown Design Guidelines

  The goal of the Downtown Design Guidelines is to build a frame-work within which builders, developers, homeowners and City government can play their part in revitalizing Downtown Florence, secure in the knowledge that their individual contributions will reinforce the whole.

• Building Inspections

  Before any person can purchase a permit, they must be licensed and/or qualified to work in Florence County. Please, as a property owner, insist that all contractors meet Florence County licensing requirements before working on your property. This will help you and Florence County ensure that the work performed meets the standards outlined in the Standard Codes.
