Various positions throughout the organization will require a test or assessment program.  The selection activities will be indicated on the job announcement.  The Human Resources Division will schedule all selection activities and notify the eligible candidate.

Selection activities may include any of the following components:  written examination (evaluation of logical thought process, identification, problem solving, decision making, leadership skills), bookkeeping, speed typing, math, spelling, manuscript preparation, bank deposits, climbing, driving, ability to wear breathing apparatus.

Information regarding specific selection activities should be directed to the Human Resources Division.  An applicant will be provided with testing information to include:  date, time, and test location.  The applicant should arrive a few minutes prior to the scheduled test in order to find the building and room and to complete any necessary paper work.  The applicant will be required to bring assigned documents to the test in order to be admitted to the testing room.  The Human Resources Division will notify each candidate as to the specific document(s) to bring to the test area.

The City of Florence will NOT accept test results obtained by an applicant from other sources.
